Ambient and Workplace Gaseous Monitors

Ground level Ozone, CO, oxides of Nitrogen and oxides of Sulphur are all gaseous in nature and comprise the majority of “criteria pollutants” the name assigned to the group of most common air pollutants.

Ground level ozone is not emitted directly into the air, but is produced by chemical reactions between oxides of nitrogen (NOx) and volatile organic compounds (VOC) in the presence of sunlight. NOx and VOC themselves come into the atmosphere through emissions from industrial facilities and electric utilities, motor vehicle exhaust, gasoline vapours, and chemical solvents etc.

Inhalation of ozone by humans can initiate a variety of health problems, particularly for children, the elderly, and people of all ages who suffer from lung ailments such as asthma. Ground level ozone can also have detrimental effects on sensitive vegetation and ecosystems.

Measurement of concentration of these gases is carried out by different technologies including spectrophotometer, Chemiluminescence, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy etc.

We manufacture grab sampling systems for CO, Oxides of Nitrogen and Oxides of Sulphur. The details of the samplers are available under emission monitoring products.

We manufacture ambient Ozone monitors based on Chemiluminescence.
