Velocity Instruments
Accurate determination of the gas velocity is one of the most important measurements in emission monitoring since both sampling rate and total gas flow rate depend on this value. Velocity measurement in a stack is akin to flow measurement as the same is not measured directly but is instead inferred from differential pressure in accordance with Bernoulli’s equation. In stack velocity measurement, the constriction is generally a Pitot Tube.
